Job summary

Vets Now in Chesterfield is seeking a Part-time Animal Care Assistant to support our clinical team in a busy emergency clinic. You will help with basic patient care and maintain a stress-free in-patient environment.

Under the guidance of Vet Nurses and Surgeons you will assist with procedures, set up theatres, and ensure welfare needs are met. The role runs on a rotating late-shift pattern, is 12 months fixed term from December 2026, and pays £13.45 per hour with benefits.

Responsibilities

• Working under the guidance of Vet Nurses and Vet Surgeons.
• Handling patients for basic procedures and assisting with running diagnostic tests.
• Assisting in setting up and clearing down theatres for surgical procedures.
• Ensuring all in-patients have their basic husbandry needs attended to.
