Job description

Adult Community Learning is seeking a passionate and motivated individual to deliver our dynamic range of Digital and ICT courses. Whether you're a qualified tutor or someone eager to train and grow into the role, we welcome your application. Our curriculum spans from beginner-level digital literacy to advanced Level 2 Microsoft and Level 2/3 Cybersecurity courses, delivered through flexible models including classroom-based, online, and hybrid formats.   • Motivate and inspire learners to promote achievement and develop their skills to enable progression.
  • Plan and deliver effective learning programmes for diverse groups or individuals in a safe and inclusive environment, following ACL safeguarding procedures.
  • Address the needs of learners and work creatively to overcome individual barriers to learning.
  • Enable learners to share responsibility for their own learning and assessment, setting goals that stretch and challenge.
  • Apply appropriate and fair methods of assessment and provide constructive and timely feedback to support progression and achievement.
  • Maintain and update your teaching / training expertise, vocational competence, and digital skills.
  • Contribute to organisational development and quality improvement through collaboration with others.
  • To initially assess learners' starting points and monitor their progress, set challenging tasks and objectives, and build on and extend learning for all learners.
  • To support learners to develop personal, social and employability skills for them to progress into further learning or jobs that meet local and national needs.

    Nationally recognised teaching qualification or teaching experience and subject specialism equivalent.

  • A good knowledge of the RARPA process (recognising and recording learner progress and achievement in non-accredited courses).
  • Competent user of ICT.
  • Desirable:
    • Good understanding of social and cultural diversity, equality of opportunity, inclusion, and safeguarding.
    • Minimum of Level 2 in English and maths.
    • Ability to inspire, motivate and raise aspirations of learners through your enthusiasm and knowledge.
  • Working Pattern:
    • 1 day a week, Monday to Friday, morning session (9.30am till 12.30pm) or afternoon session (1pm till 4pm) based at ACL Witham or ACL Maldon
    • 2 evening sessions a week, Monday to Friday (6pm till 9pm), based at ACL Witham (1 Session) / Maldon (1 session) centre or Online (1 session)., You will receive a salary of £30,377 per annum, full time equivalent / equal to £15.74 per hour. The actual salary for the 9.25 hours per week is £7,594.25 per annum
