Job summary

The Supply Register, in partnership with The Hathershaw College and The Pinnacle Learning Trust in Oldham, is seeking a reliable Cover Supervisor to support pupils and ensure continuity of learning during teacher absences. The role is part-time and offers opportunities for long-term placements within Trust schools.

You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared materials, manage behaviour, and work collaboratively with teaching staff to maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a school or similar setting.
• Confident in managing a classroom and maintaining positive behaviour.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Adaptable, reliable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Enthusiasm and professionalism in approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes across 11-16 year olds during teacher absences.
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials provided by teaching staff.
• Managing classroom behaviour and keeping pupils engaged with learning.
• Supporting pupils with their work and answering basic questions where appropriate.
• Ensuring a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.
• Reporting back to teaching staff on pupil engagement and progress.
• Working collaboratively as part of a supportive school team.
