Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare is hiring a Funeral Service Crew in Bolton to collect and transport the deceased with care and professionalism, driving funeral vehicles and assisting on the day of the funeral. You’ll receive full training, a competitive salary (£13.24 per hour) plus a wide range of benefits including a generous pension, holiday entitlement, and staff discounts.

This part-time role includes on-call duties across Greater Manchester.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence required.
• Ability to perform physical duties including manual lifting.
• Good IT skills and ability to use multiple devices.
• Calm, compassionate approach to customers in emotional situations.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from a range of locations in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on funeral day and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain equipment and vehicle cleanliness.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications with timely records.
• Safely lift, carry and move coffins using safe techniques.
