Job description

Part-Time Community Engagement Officer, Gloucester

Platform Housing Group is seeking a Community Engagement Officer to help build sustainable communities across Gloucester and surrounding areas. This role involves working closely with local residents to develop community programs, organize engagement activities, and support community-led solutions.

The position is home-based with travel required across areas including Stratford-Upon-Avon, West Oxfordshire, West Northamptonshire, Stroud, Cheltenham, and Gloucester. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential. Business mileage expenses are reimbursed according to HMRC rates.

This is a part-time role, working 17.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:
  • Engaging with community members and organizations to identify local issues and opportunities
  • Organizing community engagement activities aligned with organizational strategies
  • Building partnerships with local authorities, community groups, and stakeholders
  • Supporting community-led initiatives to promote a healthy and safe environment
Candidate requirements:
  • Experience in community-focused roles or supporting community projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of social housing challenges and organizational values
  • Ability to creatively engage and empower communities
  • DBS check required before employment
  • Driving license and access to a vehicle
