Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust in Edgware invites an experienced Band 8a Clinical Lead Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to lead the Adult SLT Service.

This part-time role (0.5 FTE, 18.75 hours per week) combines senior clinical practice with strategic leadership to drive service development in the community. You will lead a dedicated SLT team, manage complex caseloads, and work with multidisciplinary colleagues to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in clinical governance and quality improvement.
• Senior-level leadership in Speech and Language Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Adult SLT Service.
• Lead, manage and develop the SLT team through recruitment, supervision, appraisal and workforce planning.
• Manage a specialist clinical caseload for adults with complex communication and swallowing needs.
• Promote person-centred care and work with MDTs and stakeholders.
• Lead service development, governance, audit and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Contribute to business planning and service transformation.
• Support staff development through mentoring and supervision.
• Ensure high standards of clinical practice and governance.
