Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is hiring a part-time Cleaner to join the team at York, North Yorkshire. You will clean classrooms and facilities, with training provided, during 3:30pm–7:06pm for about 18 hours per week, at a competitive rate.

There is also potential to take on caretaker duties (locking, arming alarms, securing the site) with pay aligned to the same rate. Closing date: 11 November 2026. DBS required.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning roles is preferred.
• Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work on-site in school environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties on site: dusting, vacuuming and sanitising fittings.
• Work within the set hours (3:30pm–7:06pm), approx. 18 hours per week.
• Possibly take on caretaker tasks: locking, arming alarms and securing the site.
