Job summary

A community support organization in Crawley is seeking a qualified Children’s Counsellor to provide counseling services for children and young people aged 5–18. The role requires a recognized counseling qualification, experience with this age group, and a sound understanding of safeguarding principles. The contract is temporary, lasting 6 months, with a minimum of 4 hours of counseling per week. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently while participating in supervision and development trainings.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a recognised qualification in counseling children and young people.
  • Experience in assessing client needs and suitability for counseling.
  • Ability to maintain accurate counseling records.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality counseling services to children and young people.
  • Maintain client confidentiality in line with regulations.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and professional development.

Skills

Experience counselling children and young people aged 5+
Sound understanding of safeguarding
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

Education

Recognised children and young people's counselling qualification
