Job summary

A leading catering services provider is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant/Barista in Ellesmere Port. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality food and beverages and provide excellent customer service. Applicants must have a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and previous retail or hospitality experience. This is an on-site role requiring working hours of 30 hours a week from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Role

Part‑Time Catering Assistant/Barista (Ref JM BL 372317)

Pay: £12.60 per hour PAYE.

Hours per week: 30 (Mon‑Fri: 8:00 – 14:30).

Contract: 3 months (may be extended).

Location: Merseyside L3 3AN (on‑site).

Candidates will go through Police Vetting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and service of food and beverages to a high standard.
  • Operate coffee machines and other catering equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Provide excellent customer service in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in line with regulations.
  • Handle cash and use EPOS systems accurately.
  • Support stock control and general catering operations as required.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive working environment.
Essential & Knowledge Requirements
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Previous experience in a retail or hospitality role, ideally within a restaurant or coffee shop environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer‑focused approach.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, EPOS systems, and food control software.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organisational and time‑management skills.
