Job summary

Oakdale Care Home is recruiting a friendly Kitchen Assistant to help the Chef with meal preparation and service for residents. The role involves assisting in the kitchen, preparing ingredients, and ensuring a clean, safe environment in line with health and safety standards.

You don't need previous care sector experience; a caring nature and a team mindset are valued. We offer induction, ongoing training, and onsite parking on a part-time basis.

Qualifications

• Caring, compassionate nature required for resident meals.
• Experience in catering or cooking is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of food safety practices.
• Able to work well in a team and follow instructions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be flexible and able to work alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Clean crockery, cutlery and food preparation equipment.
• Assist in preparation of meals for service.
• Prepare ingredients for service and help with meal delivery.
