Job summary

Colchester United FC is seeking enthusiastic Bar & Waiting Staff to join our hospitality team for matchdays and events. You’ll provide friendly service behind the bar and on the floor, helping create a welcoming atmosphere for spectators and guests.

Experience is preferred but not essential. Strong time management, excellent customer service, and a positive team spirit are key as you support busy service periods with colleagues across bar and dining areas. Pay ranges £8.00–£12.71 per hour.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in bar work, waiting, or a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry is preferred but not essential.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on providing outstanding customer service.
• Knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous.
• A positive attitude and willingness to support team members across both bar and waiting duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standard recipes and customer preferences.
• Take food and drink orders accurately, deliver meals and beverages promptly, and check back to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar, service stations, and dining areas, ensuring all equipment and supplies are well-stocked and operational.
• Provide friendly and efficient service to all customers, addressing their needs promptly and professionally.
• Assist in managing stock levels and restocking items as required.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Engage with customers to create a welcoming atmosphere, fostering repeat business through excellent service.
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar colleagues to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
