Lotus Academy is a project-based, progressive, mixed-aged classroom school. Our school is new, and as such, our classroom sizes are small. We are looking for experienced teachers who pride themselves on creating and delivering high-impact lessons, differentiated to engage all learners in the classroom. We encourage extensions and are not limited by a grade level but rather by a student’s individual abilities.

If you enjoy creating curriculum, are passionate about teaching elementary-aged children, and have at least two years of ELEMENTARY classroom teaching experience in a classroom setting (not an after-school) we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher in daily classroom activities and instruction for a hybrid Kindergarten/1st grade class
• Create appropriate units and lesson plans
• Lead small group activities and, at times, lead the entire class in the absence of the lead teacher.
• Foster a nurturing and supportive atmosphere where children feel safe to explore and learn.
• Demonstrate professionalism in the work environment
• Supervise students during lunch and recess duties (additional hours optional)
• Collaborate effectively with the lead teacher and other staff members.

Schedule

• Two days per week: 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
• Three days per week: 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM
• Lunch and recess duty: 11:30-1:30 every day

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience with elementary-aged children is required.
• Demonstrated ability to confidently engage students and lead classroom activities.
• Exceptional patience and a genuine love for working with children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Please note: While a teaching certificate is not required for this position, applicants must have elementary teaching experience. This is not a job for a Pre-school teacher.
