Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society is seeking an Activities Coordinator at Westall House in Birchgrove to deliver engaging activities for residents. You will tailor plans to individual needs, including dementia care, and work with staff to run sessions smoothly.

The role requires 21 hours per week, 9am–5pm, with an unpaid break. Pay ranges from £12.77 to £12.98 per hour, plus benefits and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Highly organised and able to work on own initiative.
• Creative with a fresh approach to planning activities.
• Empathetic and able to understand the needs of older people, including those with dementia.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient and able to work as a supportive team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide a varied range of social activities suitable for residents.
• Know residents as individuals and tailor activities to their needs and interests.
• Develop positive relationships with residents and involve them in activity planning.
• Coordinate with staff and volunteers to run activities smoothly.
• Maintain up-to-date records of resident involvement and planned activities.
