A leading educational recruitment agency in Essex is seeking a Part-Time 1:1 Outreach Tutor to support children in care and those with special educational needs. The role involves tutoring in core subjects like Maths and English, tailored to students who may struggle with conventional teaching methods. Candidates should have experience in the education sector and be motivated to create engaging learning experiences. Flexible hours are offered, typically 3 hours per day from Monday to Friday.
Prospero Teaching is looking for 1:1 tutors to support children in care, children with special educational needs and excluded pupils across Essex.
We have a variety of different part‑time tuition opportunities that can take place during the school day or after school hours/weekends.
Successful tutors should be able to support mainly with the core subjects of Maths, English and sometimes Science across all key stages. (the students we work with are usually low levels, the highest level you would be expected to tutor would be foundation level).
You should be flexible, adaptable and have experience working within the education sector.
Lessons could take place in either their home, care home or an alternative setting such as a local library.
Students are likely to have difficulty responding to conventional teaching and may have behaviour and/or SEN difficulties. They are also likely to be working at lower levels than their peers.
