Part Qualified Book Keeper / Assistant Accountant

We are seeking a Part Time Book Keeper/ detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Director in managing and producing accurate financial reports and accounts.The hours vary between 20 /30 per week so you must be able to commit to these hours.The ideal candidate will have experience preparing full sets of accounts and able to work on their own initiative.A background in hospitality is desirable but not essential as they will consider industry commercial experience

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to 2 Directors and responsible for managing accounts and producing a set of accounts for Directors
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and year-end accountsReconcile balance sheet and control accounts
  • Maintain the general ledger and post journalsSupport in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Assist with management accounts and financial reportingProcess accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset schedules
  • Liaise with external auditors during audit periodsProvide support to the finance manager and wider accounts team
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Opera, Xero, or similar systems)Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracyStrong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Background in the hospitality or hotel industry is advantageous although they will consider industry experience.
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)advantageous
  • Familiarity with hospitality-specific systems or reporting processes
Further Information

Salary: Between £27,000 and £32,000 per annum, depends on experience and qualifications.Work Time: Monday to Thursday 9am-5.30pm, Friday 9am-5.00pm.20 - 30 hours per week.
