Job summary

Extension Architecture in the United Kingdom is seeking a Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join our planning and design team. You will take projects from concept to planning submission and grow into a client-facing role.

Work with the senior design team on residential and commercial schemes, develop design concepts, apply UK planning policy, and present ideas clearly to clients and stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Part 2 qualified (MArch or equivalent) and working toward Part 3.
• Strong conceptual design ability and a good eye for detail.
• Solid understanding of UK planning policy and process.
• Confident presentation skills, comfortable communicating directly with clients.
• Ambition to grow into a client-facing or leadership role within the team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects at once.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the preparation of planning applications from concept to submission.
• Develop strong design concepts in line with client briefs and planning policy requirements.
• Prepare and deliver clear, professional presentations to clients and internal teams.
• Liaise with local planning authorities and respond to planning queries.
• Collaborate with architects, planners, and project managers across live projects.
• Support and eventually lead client relationships as experience develops.
