Your role

We are looking for a Part 2 Architectural Assistant to be based either in our Bristol or Reading offices, joining our 2026 Graduate Programme. You will join a supportive and successful team with exciting career opportunities, gain great client exposure and professional development and work in an innovative and collaborative environment.

You will have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting projects including community, residential, commercial and mixed-use developments across the UK. The team’s clients are wide ranging and include landowners, developers, Local Authorities, Registered Providers and national house builders.

This is a fantastic opportunity to really put your design skills into practice! You will support the team by contributing to the design process across the RIBA workstages, helping to deliver information packages including drawings and reports (e.g., design and access statements) in a supportive team environment.

You’ll be working with a Project Architect and using design software like Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp to create visual presentations and diagrams. You’ll be a key part of the design process, helping to take projects from initial ideas all the way to getting approvals and projects built.

You’ll also learn how to analyse sites and the surrounding area to make sure your designs fit perfectly, and work in a collaborative environment with other disciplines across Stantec.

To be successful, you will ideally have some experience working on residential or mixed-use projects in the UK and have completed your Masters (Part 2). You’ll be working with design information packages and contribute to design and access statements. A strong creative eye and excellent communication skills are a must, along with knowledge of building regulations.

Willingness to learn new software or techniques is highly valued, along with organisation and time management skills, especially when juggling deadlines.

We are an RIBA-chartered practice and will provide you with the necessary support to progress your career towards becoming an Architect.

If you have a passion for good quality place making, and would like to further your professional design experience, we want to hear from you.

Please ensure that you add your portfolio as a cover letter.

About you

At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with a minimum of a completed MArch (Part 2 accreditation), you will be:

  • A Curious Mind: You’ll be eager to learn and progress your technical knowledge, with a keen interest in your professional development.
  • An Adapter: Able to remain calm in new situations, comfortably switching between a variety of dynamic and exciting tasks.
  • An Innovator: You’ll love thinking of new ideas as well as spotting and improving current ways of working.
  • A Striver: Exhibiting ownership, consistently delivering on tasks and objectives. You’ll be motivated and proactive in your tasks, having the desire to make a real difference.
  • A Multi-Tasker: Thinking about more than one task at a time, while still maintaining an eye for detail.

Please note, we ask our graduates to come into the office 4 days per week, to ensure that you receive sufficient time with your team and receive the appropriate level of support.

What we can offer you
  • A competitive salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection and life assurance
  • Permanent employment contract to demonstrate our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec
  • Professional progression plan, supporting you to gain professional chartership
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment and Early Careers peer group and wider ERG network (see more on our ERGs here)

Applicants must have an unconditional right to live and work in the UK for an indefinite period without limitation.

Please take a look at our Graduate FAQs if you have any questions. We look forward to receiving your application!
