Parks Engagement Co‑ordinator

Location: Office‑based in Orpington, with frequent travel across Bromley Borough.

Salary: £35,000 to £37,0000

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with occasional evenings and weekends for meetings, events and volunteer days.

About the role

As a Parks Engagement Co‑ordinator, you will join our Parks Development Team in the London Borough of Bromley, representing the Borough through the idverde contract and supporting the management of volunteers and community groups to keep local parks and green spaces thriving.

The core mission is to develop, strengthen, and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. The role offers a chance to make an impact on the local environment – from working in nature with community groups and volunteers to contributing to fundraising and management plans that improve biodiversity and conservation, alongside coordination with local authorities and the wider community.

Requirements
  • Experience and knowledge of working with and coordinating community groups or volunteers in the horticulture/conservation industry.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Keen attention to detail and great organisational skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and graphic design tools (e.g. Canva).
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of Bromley parks and green spaces would be highly beneficial.
Desirable
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health & safety qualification.
  • Experience or certification in fundraising.
  • Knowledge of Green Flag award standards or similar schemes.
