A local government authority in East Kent is seeking a part-time Parking Technician to join their Civil Enforcement team. The role involves providing essential advice on parking and highway issues, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring compliance with parking legislation. Excellent communication skills and a clean driving licence are required. Training will be provided for those without prior legislation knowledge. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance local services and engage with the community.
The Civil Enforcement team helps the District Council meet the demands of the Traffic Management Act 2004. As a Parking Technician you will perform a key role, providing specialist advice to the public regarding parking and highway issues.
We have a part time vacancy for a Parking Technician to join the team and to deal with all administration and parking enquiries with regard to Civil Enforcement. This includes Penalty Charge Notices, Abandoned Vehicles, Parking Permits, Parking Suspensions, Road Closures, Mobile Displays and Payments.
TDC are keen to deliver a strict enforcement policy coupled with a positive and courteous service so the role will require you to have excellent communications skills and maintain a polite but assertive approach in order to communicate positively and effectively with the public in an enforcement environment.
Whilst an understanding of parking and highway related legislation is desirable it is not essential as training will be provided, so a good attitude to work and a desire to learn on the job is needed.
