Role

Park Ranger (Temporary assignment until October, starting in the New Year)

Location

Based in Aberystwyth, with regular travel across the Cambrian Mountains area, including Llanwrtyd Wells, Llangurig, and Ffos y Ffin. Pool car provided.

Pay

£17.54 per hour.

Assignment Type

Temporary assignment until October, starting in the New Year.

Hours

Full‑time, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of contact for neighbours and local stakeholders, fostering positive relationships and helping resolve issues.
  • Carry out public safety inspections, monitoring tree safety, checking fencing, roadside flailing requirements, and other on‑site operational tasks.
  • Take calls and emails about reported incidents such as fly‑tipping, fallen trees, and damaged paths or benches; travel to sites, assess the issue, and report findings accurately.
  • Proactively patrol sites to identify unreported problems, including potential hazards, damaged infrastructure, or environmental concerns.
  • Travel independently across a wide area (potentially up to 100 miles per day) using a provided radio and pool vehicle for communication and safety.
  • Contribute to high standards of customer service and continuous improvement in frontline site management.
Requirements
