Job summary

JDR Recruitment Ltd is looking for a Night Shift Warehouse Operative in the Carlisle area for ongoing temporary work. Duties include unloading deliveries, checking for damage, and picking/packing orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Shifts run Sunday to Friday, with potential weekends during peak periods. Typical hours 20:00–08:00, with average shifts of 11–12 hours. Pay up to £13.70 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Receive and unload deliveries.
• Check goods for damage or missing items.
• Pick and pack customer orders accurately.
• Label and prepare orders for dispatch.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles safely.
• Move stock around the warehouse.
• Keep the warehouse clean and tidy.
• Follow health and safety rules at all times.
• Use handheld scanners or basic warehouse equipment when required.
• Help with stock checks and maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Report damaged goods or equipment to a supervisor.
• Work as part of a team to meet daily targets.
• Carry out manual handling tasks safely.

Job description

Pay: Up to £13.70 per hour

Our Client is a dynamic 24/7 logistics operation where your contribution directly impacts the success of daily operations.

Our Client is a busy logistics company operating 24 hours a day in the Carlisle area. Nightshifts only. Average shift - 11-12 hrs. Typically (between 20.00 - 08.00). Work pattern is Sunday to Friday - shifts may cover 7 days per week during Peak Periods. The position involves working in a fast-paced warehouse environment where efficiency, accuracy, and teamwork are essential to ensure goods are processed and distributed on time.

• Job & finish basis, so flexibility is essential as finish times may vary depending on operational requirements
• Current working pattern is Sunday to Friday - Saturdays included during Peak Season - ie Black Friday/Cyber Monday/Christimas Period/New Years Sales
