Job summary

Skipton Building Society is seeking a Paraplanner to support Financial Advisers with complex cases, turning detailed research, tax calculations and client information into clear, compliant recommendations. You’ll obtain up-to-date research, analyse investments and customer data, and contribute to suitability reports, supporting the delivery of robust advice for members.

This 12‑month secondment is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 3 days per week at Head Office in Skipton,

Qualifications

  • Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or equivalent is required.
  • Proven paraplanning experience is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret investments and tax data.
  • Ability to produce robust, well-evidenced outputs and compliant recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining up-to-date research, analysing and interpreting customers’ existing investments, customer information and tax calculations.
  • Supporting the delivery of suitable advice, ensuring recommendations are robust and well-evidenced.
  • Completing mid-appointment activity on system, inputting information and preparing suitability reports in line with compliance guidelines.
  • Turning technical detail into clear, compliant recommendations that support good member outcomes.
  • Co-ordinating and overseeing cases end-to-end, managing expectations and assisting with complex queries.
