Job summary

IDEX Consulting Ltd. seeks an experienced Senior Paraplanner in London to support Financial Advisers with high-quality, compliant planning recommendations and suitability reports.

You’ll cover pensions, investments, inheritance tax planning and protection while mentoring junior paraplanners and driving best practices within the team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ paraplanning experience within a UK financial advice firm.
• Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, and tax planning.
• Proven experience writing complex suitability reports.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of FCA regulation and compliance requirements; ability to manage multiple cases independently.
• CII Level 6 Advanced Diploma or currently progressing towards it.

Responsibilities

• Producing accurate and compliant suitability reports in line with FCA requirements.
• Undertaking complex financial planning research and analysis across pensions (DB & DC), retirement planning, investments, estate planning, protection, and taxation.
• Reviewing adviser recommendations for technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Supporting advisers with client meeting preparation and ensuring cases progress efficiently.
• Liaising with providers and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Acting as a technical point of reference for advisers and paraplanners.
• Contributing to process improvements, training, and paraplanning best practice.

Job description

I’m looking for an experienced Senior Paraplanner to join a successful and well established IFA practice in London as it embarks on it’s next growth phase.

This is a key technical role supporting Financial Advisers through the delivery of high-quality, compliant financial planning recommendations and suitability reports. You’ll work across a broad range of advice areas including pensions, investments, inheritance tax planning and protection, while also helping to mentor and develop junior paraplanners within the team.

Key responsibilities
