Job summary

AFH Wealth Management is seeking a Paraplanner to join our Cardiff team on a full-time basis. You will conduct comprehensive financial research, prepare bespoke investment reports, and support advisers with transfer analysis.

Ideal candidates hold a Diploma in Financial Planning and show strong report-writing and numerical abilities, with experience in an IFA environment. We offer flexible working, a discretionary bonus and a contributory pension scheme.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks within SLAs and deliver accurate research and reports to advisers.
• Provide thorough research, calculations, and New Business Investment Reports and FPRs.
• Assist in technical/regulatory development for advisers and staff on a case basis.
• Support Trainee Paraplanners with guidance and training as needed.
• Conduct thorough research and escalate to Senior team when required.

As our Paraplanner you will typically:

• Participate in and delivering comprehensive financial research, within set SLAs, on products and investments on an independent basis using company-approved research tools
• Prepare and delivering bespoke investment reports, within set SLAs, to clients through the analysis of existing investment portfolios and comparison against suitable benchmarks
• Prepare and interpreting complex plan information with a view to completing transfer analysis
• Prepare complex financial planning reports, within set SLAs, in multiple financial planning areas
• Research and review, where necessary, new and existing legislation and technical/product information to aid in the role that is performed
• Thorough research conducted where necessary and referring to Senior team members, where necessary
• Participating in firm research projects, adhering to set deadlines, as and if required.

What we are looking for in our ideal Paraplanner:

• Diploma in Financial Planning
• Demonstration of knowledge, interest and experience in personal financial planning and in the construction of financial planning research and suitability reports
• Experience in an IFA environment, demonstrating quality communications of constructive feedback
• A high standard of written and numerical skills
• An ability to demonstrate strong report‑writing skills
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude in Microsoft Office.

Key Risk Responsibilities:

• Completion of assigned tasks, ensuring that SLAs are adhered to
• Delivery of accurate and thorough research, calculations, New Business Investment Reports and FPRs to advisers
• Contribution into technical and regulatory development of advisers and/or staff on a specific case basis
• Contribution into technical and regulatory development of Trainee Paraplanners
• Thorough research conducted where necessary and referring to Senior team members, where necessary.
