Job summary

AFH Wealth Management in Bromsgrove is seeking a Paraplanner to join our growing team at the Bromsgrove Head Office. This full-time, permanent role offers hybrid working and a competitive salary with a range of benefits.

You will conduct independent financial research, prepare investment reports and complex planning analyses, while ensuring accuracy and adherence to SLAs. Ideal candidates will have a Diploma in Financial Planning, IFA experience, and strong report-writing skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Financial Planning.
• Knowledge and experience in personal financial planning and in constructing financial planning research and suitability reports.
• Experience in an IFA environment with quality communication of feedback.
• High standard of written and numerical skills.
• Strong report-writing ability.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Aptitude in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and delivering comprehensive financial research within SLAs on products and investments using company-approved research tools.
• Prepare and deliver bespoke investment reports within set SLAs by analyzing portfolios and benchmarks.
• Prepare and interpreting complex plan information with a view to completing transfer analysis.
• Prepare complex financial planning reports within SLAs in multiple financial planning areas.
• Research and review, where necessary, new and existing legislation and technical/product information to aid in the role that is performed.
• Thorough research conducted where necessary and referring to Senior team members where necessary.
• Participating in firm research projects, adhering to set deadlines, as and if required.

As our Paraplanner you will typically:

• Participate in and delivering comprehensive financial research, within set SLAs, on products and investments on an independent basis using company-approved research tools
• Prepare and delivering bespoke investment reports, within set SLAs, to clients through the analysis of existing investment portfolios and comparison against suitable benchmarks
• Prepare and interpreting complex plan information with a view to completing transfer analysis

• Thorough research conducted where necessary and referring to Senior team members, where necessary

What we are looking for in our ideal Paraplanner:

• Diploma in Financial Planning
• Demonstration of knowledge, interest and experience in personal financial planning and in the construction of financial planning research and suitability reports
• Experience in an IFA environment, demonstrating quality communications of constructive feedback
• A high standard of written and numerical skills
• An ability to demonstrate strong report‑writing skills
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude in Microsoft Office.

Key Risk Responsibilities:

• Completion of assigned tasks, ensuring that SLAs are adhered to
• Delivery of accurate and thorough research, calculations, New Business Investment Reports and FPRs to advisers
• Contribution into technical and regulatory development of advisers and/or staff on a specific case basis
• Contribution into technical and regulatory development of Trainee Paraplanners
• Thorough research conducted where necessary and referring to Senior team members, where necessary.
