Job summary

A leading GP surgery in Peterborough is seeking a full-time Paramedic Practitioner for a one-year fixed-term position. The role includes providing on-the-day appointments, triaging patients, and conducting home visits. Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Paramedicine and have relevant clinical experience. This position offers competitive remuneration based on AfC Bands 6 to 8a.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years post-registration clinical experience at Band 6 or equivalent.
  • Registration with the HCPC is mandatory.
  • Clean driving licence required.
  • Minor Illness and Independent Prescribing qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-the-day appointments for patients with minor illnesses.
  • Triage patients requesting home visits.
  • Undertake home visits in the community.

BMC is housed in modern,purpose-built premises, caring for a diverse patient population of over 45,000patients across four sites across the City of Peterborough. We have a very experienced and highly skilledclinical team of 20 Doctors, 6 ACPs, 18 Nurses, 8 Paramedics, 6 ClinicalPharmacists and 8 HCAs.

Main duties of the job

Now is a really exciting time to join General Practice as a Paramedic Practitioner. The role has grown and developed and many of our existing practitioners now hold Masters degrees as Advanced Practitioners.

We are seeking a Paramedic to join our team of Paramedic Practitionerswho provide on-the-day appointments to patients presenting with minor illness,triage of those patients requesting home visits and undertaking suitable homevisits within the community (including Nursing and Residential homes). Thesuccessful candidate will ideally hold a degree/diploma in Paramedicine (orequivalent experience) and have three years experience at Band 6 (orequivalent) as a paramedic. Experience of working in a primary care settingwould be advantageous, however opportunities for career progression andtraining and development will be made available to the successful candidate.
