A leading and innovative GP practice based in Salisbury is seeking a motivated and clinically confident Prescribing Paramedic Practitioner to join their expanding team. The Role

The Prescribing Paramedic Practitioner will take on a varied and rewarding role, working both autonomously and as part of the wider clinical team. The successful candidate will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of acute, minor, and chronic conditions. Independent prescribing is central to the role, enabling timely interventions and continuity of care for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality clinical assessments for patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions
  • Undertake same-day and routine clinics, managing minor illness, urgent care, and chronic disease reviews where appropriate
  • Prescribe medications safely and effectively within the scope of practice
  • Perform home visits and contribute to the on-the-day demand management system
  • Collaborate closely with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health professionals
  • Engage in clinical governance, quality improvement, and audit activities
  • Support patient education and health promotion within the community
Requirements
  • Registered Paramedic with the HCPC
  • Independent Prescriber (V300 qualification essential)
  • Experience within primary care, urgent care, or community settings
  • Strong clinical decision-making and triage skills

  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
