Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Paramedic to provide primary care, evaluate and stabilize critically ill or injured patients. You will work with physicians and nursing staff to relay patient information on arrival or before transport.

Key responsibilities include response, patient assessment, vital signs, monitoring, diagnostics, patient movement, and medication administration. Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in a High Reliability Organization environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• BLS Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association.
• EMTP – EMTP National Registry certification required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and provide primary care, assessment, stabilization and transport information gathering.
• Maintain equipment in proper working order.
• Daily cleaning and weekly disinfecting of ambulances/equipment and station.
• Prepare and file reports and documentation.

Job Description Summary:

Provide primary care, BLS and/or Advanced Life Support to include medical evaluation, treatment and stabilization of the critically ill and injured. This will require working directly with physicians and nursing staff to inform and receive patient information regarding the patient's condition on arrival or prior to transporting.

Responsibilities And Duties:

• 60% - Performs primary job responsibilities listed for Paramedic to include response, patient assessment, vital signs, patient monitoring and diagnostics, patient moving and lifting, medication administration.
• 20% - Maintaining Equipment in proper working order
• 10% - Daily cleaning to include mandatory weekly disinfecting of ambulances/equipment and station.
• 10% - Report writing and documentation

As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
