Job summary

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor in Scarborough. This is a permanent, full-time role offering hybrid working with home and centre days.

You will assess eligibility for PIP, analyze challenging medical evidence, and produce detailed reports as part of a structured clinical framework. We welcome NMC or HCPC registered nurses, physiotherapists, paramedics or OTs with at least one year of UK clinical experience.

Responsibilities

Salary: £39,500 - £41,000 per annum + OTE up to £47,150

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Are you an NMC‑registered Nurse or HCPC‑registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist ready for a change from frontline clinical work, but keen to continue using your expertise?

As a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor at Medacs Healthcare, you'll complete Personal Independence Payment (PIP) functional assessments to understand how health conditions affect everyday life. This is a non‑hands‑on clinical role centred on clinical reasoning, analysis and report writing.

The hybrid working model combines home working with time at one of our assessment centres, offering predictable hours, long‑term stability and a healthier work‑life balance.

What you'll do

What we're looking for

Essential:

• Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist
• Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions
• Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed)
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)

Desirable

• Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles
• Confidence in producing high‑quality written clinical reports
