Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic to join our Unscheduled care team at HMP Garth. HMP Garth has a capacity of around 800 males and is a category B prison located in Lancashire. The Paramedic will be based within the Healthcare department; however, you will also be required to work on the prison wings. You will be responsible for the emergency radio and required to conduct consultations. Wing work will be required as and when.

Hours
  • Monday - Friday Sunday service - 37.5 hours per week
  • Two week shift pattern
  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday 7:30am - 7:45pm
  • Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 7:30am - 7:45pm
Salary

This position is permanent and you will receive an annual salary up to £43,609 - £49,175 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Paramedic, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Provide outstanding evidence-based care to patients seeking care, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them, focusing on emergency and unplanned care for patients with primary care and acute care needs.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, build therapeutic relationships and promote professional boundaries.
  • Participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following policies and procedures, always considering safeguarding.
