The Home Office is recruiting 9 x HEO Paralegals for an 18-month contract based in Leeds (1 day on-site per week, remainder remote). You will join the Independent Inquiry into Grooming Gangs as Paralegal Review Managers, supervising document review, disclosure and evidence management activities within the IEM team.

The role requires leadership, close collaboration with solicitors and counsel, and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a sensitive environment.

Formación

• A law degree at 2:1 or above, or another degree at 2:1 or above alongside a law conversion qualification.
• Overseas qualifications must be equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a legal environment, or 3 months in a law clinic placement.
• Experience on public inquiries or large-scale investigations.
• Experience using EMS with clearly specified systems.
• Strong organisational and planning skills to manage workloads and deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy when handling complex documents.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to guide colleagues.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee one or more document review modules, managing a team of Paralegals to support the Inquiry’s evidence and disclosure process.
• Coordinate, allocate and monitor daily workloads to ensure timely completion of review, redaction and disclosure tasks.
• Use EMS to oversee the review and processing of large volumes of sensitive documentation.
• Quality assure outputs to ensure consistency and compliance with disclosure protocols.
• Provide guidance, training and feedback to Paralegals to maintain high standards.
• Line manage a team of Paralegals, conducting performance reviews and development discussions.
• Lead regular team meetings to promote communication and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with Solicitors, counsel and wider legal teams to support hearings preparation.
