About You

We hold Legal Aid Agency contracts in public law, community care and actions against the police, and are also instructed by privately funded individuals, professional associations and charities. The successful candidate will assist a Solicitor based in the Liverpool office with a busy caseload likely to include health and welfare cases in the Court of Protection, community care and broader judicial review work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist a Solicitor with a busy caseload in health and welfare cases within the Court of Protection, community care and broader judicial review.
  • Travel to attend court and visit clients; a driving licence and access to a vehicle are highly desirable.
  • Document work thoroughly, maintain accurate records and take initiative in client care.
  • Support the team across public law, civil liberties, social care and medical treatment matters.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
  • Experience of community care and/or health and welfare cases is desirable but not essential.

  • Strong analytical, organisational and IT literacy.
  • Working knowledge of legal aid systems is desirable.
