Zusammenfassung

Simpson Millar Solicitors is seeking a Paralegal to join our Military team, assisting with military injury and accident claims. You will draft court applications, witness statements and bundles, maintain files, and liaise with clients while supporting hearings with counsel.

The role requires a law degree or GDL and at least 12 months’ experience in personal injury work, with strong organisation, empathy, and confidentiality. We operate a flexible hybrid policy to suit you.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Military team, assisting this specialist team with military injury & accident claims.

The team manage a specialist caseload of claims relating to military claims including:

• Military Training Accidents
• Military Parachute Accident Claims
• Military Non Freezing Cold Injury Claims
• Armed Forces Medical Negligence Claims
• Military Bullying and Harassment Claims
• Sea King Helicopter Cancer Claims
• Military Hearing Loss Claims

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting solicitors with a caseload of military injury claims.
• Drafting court applications, witness statements, legal correspondence, attendance notes, and court bundles.
• Liaising with clients.
• Assisting with preparing cases for hearings and conferences with counsel.
• Managing files, maintain accurate records, and comply with regulatory and file management procedures.
• Monitoring court deadlines and ensure timely filing of documents.
• Handling new enquiries and assisting with client onboarding.
• Assisting with business development activities, networking, and maintaining professional relationships.
• Conducting legal research on relevant legislation and case law.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• A law degree, Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), or equivalent legal qualification.
• At least 12 months experience assisting with personal injury matters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to work empathetically with vulnerable clients.
• Professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Competent in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
• Excellent knowledge of legal aid procedures.
• Experience attending court or client meetings.
• Have demonstrated experience in and be passionate about developing a career in personal injury claims
• Have an ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and professionalism when advising clients and their families on complex and often emotionally challenging issues.
