This is an exciting opportunity to join our brilliant, friendly, and successful in-house litigation and governance legal team. The team provides legal support and representation to our client departments covering civil, regulatory crime and public law, housing management including possession claims, injunctions for tenancy breaches, disrepair claims and aims to support the Council with a proactive and solution-focused approach.

We are looking to recruit a paralegal/legal assistant to support the litigation team. Ideally you will have experience in litigation and housing management and be motivated, enthusiastic and keen to provide an excellent standard of legal advice and support to the Council. Experience in Local Government is desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the litigation team
  • Take instructions
  • Undertake research
  • Support solicitors with drafting court applications and court documents
  • Peruse reports and statements from the client department
  • File and serve documents
  • Create and update court bundles
  • Hold a case load of housing disrepair files
Qualifications
  • Qualifying Law Degree and LPC or SQE or BPCor able to demonstrate competence in dealing with legal matters to an equivalent level
  • Experience in a legal office dealing with work relevant to the post
