Job summary

A respected solicitor client in Liverpool seeks a Paralegal to join their Family Law team. This hands-on role involves supporting senior fee earners and managing a varied caseload focused mainly on Care work. The ideal candidate will have at least 12 months of Family Law experience, proficiency in Case Management Systems, and the ability to manage a busy workload. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed after probation. Interviews may occur in person or via video call.

Qualifications

  • At least 12 months' experience in a Family Law team.
  • Experience with the Legal Aid Agency Portal (CCMS).

I'm working with a respected solicitor client who is looking to add a Paralegal to their busy Family Law team in Liverpool. This is a hands‑on role supporting senior fee earners with a high and varied caseload, predominantly focused on Care work, within a well established and fast‑paced department.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Opening new files
  • Day to day support for the wider team
  • Updating clients on case progress
  • Communicating with courts, experts and external agencies
  • Scheduling and managing appointments
  • Handling incoming and outgoing calls
  • Preparing bundles for hearings
  • Supporting clients both in person and remotely
  • General legal and administrative assistance
  • Managing diaries
  • Attending court to assist counsel and/or clients
  • Completing legal aid assessments and applications
  • Taking client appointments and initial instructions
The ideal candidate will:
  • Be a self starter who's keen to get involved
  • Work well with people and communicate clearly
  • Thrive in a vibrant, collaborative team
  • Be flexible and responsive to client and team needs
  • Have strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise heavy workloads
  • Ideally have at least 12 months' experience in a Family Law team
  • Have experience using Case Management Systems and Laserforms (essential)
  • Have experience with the Legal Aid Agency Portal (CCMS) (essential)
  • Be comfortable working with Excel (desirable)
Location and working pattern:

This role is based in my client's Liverpool City office. Hybrid working can be discussed following a successful probation period. In the long term, some office based presence each week will be required.

Interviews may be held either in person or via video call.
