Job description

As Paralegal you will support the Legal EMEA PDx team on various aspects of the company's operations and initiatives. You will be an experienced commercial paralegal and will play a key role in supporting the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) legal function with a range of contract drafting and review tasks but also with administrative tasks such as outside counsel management and corporate housekeeping. Acting as a trusted business partner, you will be expected to work at all levels of the organization with various functional and product teams. It is essential that applicants have experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, with a particular focus on indirect market related agreements such as distribution/wholesaler/sales agent agreements in the pharmaceutical industry but also Power of Attorney, Non-disclosure agreements and quality agreements. Though the Paralegal will work primarily on legal matters related to EMEA, the candidate will need to be flexible and ready to work on global matters or matters relating to other PDx regions. This position is designed for experienced career paralegals who are passionate about supporting a legal team. Vous serez un(e) assistant(e) juridique commercial(e) expérimenté(e) et jouerez un rôle clé dans le soutien de la fonction juridique EMEA (Europe, Moyen-Orient et Afrique) en effectuant diverses tâches de rédaction et de révision de contrats, mais aussi des tâches administratives telles que la gestion des conseillers juridiques externes et l'administration interne. En tant que partenaire commercial de confiance, vous serez amené à travailler à tous les niveaux de l'organisation avec différentes équipes fonctionnelles et produits. Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the corporate housekeeping process such as related to powers of attorney, delegations of authority and respective guidance and training.
  • Conducting commercial contract reviews such as NDAs, distribution agreements, quality agreements, amendment agreements etc with a focus on compliance with existing templates, the identifying and mitigating of risks and the ensuring of contractual rigor; this can also include the drafting of respective documents based on business needs and the customization and use of PDx contractual templates.
  • Supporting in updating and harmonizing PDx contractual templates.
  • Conducting initial legal researches in close alignment with the lawyers.
  • Participating in, and taking minutes of, calls regarding matters of broader scope and drafting update summaries in close alignment with the responsible project lead lawyer.
  • Managing all types of daily correspondence to ensure timely response and appropriate prioritization.
  • Educating legal and business colleagues on Legal department's processes as and when required.
  • Performing administrative tasks to support legal operations, such as managing documentation, outside counsel management and case management (organize files, track deadlines, prepare reporting documents etc.).
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated administrative experience in a Legal environment of a pharmaceutical company or Life Sciences team in a law firm, supporting the activities of a Legal department/team or Legal manager.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English (with French, German or another EMEA language a plus).
  • Strong time management skills. Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects with more than one team member simultaneously, adjusting to changing priorities and follow through on all assignments.
  • Strong personal integrity and commitment to operating ethically and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated team player ability.
  • Must be able to maintain security of highly confidential information—discretion and confidentiality required.
