We have a fantastic opportunity for a Paralegal to join our in-house Legal Team.

You'll be based from our office in Bournemouth (Hurn), with the flexibility to combine home working.

The role

Reporting into one of our Legal Counsels, you'll provide day to day support to the legal team on a wide range of cases and projects, as well as being responsible for your own caseload of legal cases and projects.

The focus for legal cases will be related to homes owned under leasehold and shared ownership arrangements within SNG's property portfolio including staircasing of additional portions of equity (shared ownership), resales of shared ownership properties, a varied and extensive range of queries related to leasehold obligations on both landlord and tenant, as well as applications for and sales under the statutory Right to Buy and Right to Acquire legislation.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting senior members of the team with all aspects of legal case work
  • Undertaking research for legal cases and preparing legal documents
  • General administrative support
What we're looking for

You’ll ideally have previous experience in a similar legal role either within a legal department or private legal practice, a Housing Association or similar organisation, but experience or knowledge of legal matters gained in a different situation, will be considered.

You will need:
  • Strong administration skills
  • Good verbal and written communication, with high attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your work
  • Good research skills
  • The ability to develop strong working relationships within the Legal team, with internal clients and our third-party stakeholders
  • The ability to exercise good judgment and discretion

Experience in property law would be desirable
