Oculus Legal Group in London is seeking a Court of Protection Paralegal to support Partners and Solicitors on a varied caseload involving property and financial affairs.

The role is suited to someone with at least 18 months’ relevant experience; Court of Protection experience is desirable but not essential, and transferable skills in client money, financial administration, private client, probate, trusts or estate administration are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Court of Protection experience is desirable but not essential.
• Experience dealing with client money, financial transactions or financial administration.
• Private client, probate, trusts, estate administration or related experience would be advantageous.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Partners and Solicitors with Court of Protection matters
• Managing day-to-day client contact and correspondence
• Attending clients in hospitals, care homes and at home
• Managing client payments and maintaining accurate financial records
• Assisting with budgets and future spending forecasts
• Dealing with invoices and a high volume of financial documentation
• Drafting letters, witness statements, court applications and other legal documents
• Assisting with client meetings and providing legal support under supervision
• Working closely with clients and understanding their individual lifestyle requirements
• Progressing casework with a degree of autonomy

Court of Protection Paralegal | London | £32,000–£33,000

I’m currently recruiting for a Court of Protection Paralegal opportunity with a leading Legal 500 firm based in South London.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Court of Protection team, working closely with Partners and Solicitors on a varied caseload involving property and financial affairs.

Court of Protection experience is preferred but not essential. The firm is open to candidates with relevant transferable experience, particularly those with experience in client money, financial administration, private client, probate, trusts or estate administration.

The role:

• Supporting Partners and Solicitors with Court of Protection matters
• Managing day-to-day client contact and correspondence
• Attending clients in hospitals, care homes and at home
• Managing client payments and maintaining accurate financial records
• Assisting with budgets and future spending forecasts

• Law degree desirable
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with figures

• Someone able to hit the ground running and work with a good degree of autonomy
