Job description

We are currently seeking an ambitious Paralegal to join our highly regarded Real Estate team in our Exeter office on a full-time, permanent basis.

In this role, you will support our fee earners on a broad range of Real Estate matters, acting for a diverse client base across both the private and public sectors in the UK and internationally. Our clients include well-known regional and national developers, investment companies, waste operators, FE colleges and local authorities.

You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of matters, including commercial and residential development, energy and waste projects, education, property investment, healthcare, self-invested pension schemes and retail franchising. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience within a team that has an outstanding reputation both locally and nationally.

As a Paralegal, you will work closely with lawyers across the team, supporting a broad range of Real Estate transactions and matters. You will prepare and review legal documentation, liaise with clients and third parties, manage case files and assist with the day‑to‑day progression of matters. This is an excellent opportunity to build on your existing experience and further develop your expertise within a leading Real Estate team.

Who you are

Ideally, you will have previous experience working as a Paralegal, in a legal support role, or within the property sector. Experience of Real Estate or property‑related work would be advantageous. You will have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to support fee earners across a broad range of transactions and matters.

You will be self‑motivated, proactive and eager to learn, with the ability to build strong working relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues. You'll be confident managing competing priorities and delivering high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment.

With excellent IT skills and a commitment to providing outstanding support to both colleagues and clients, you'll be keen to further develop your career and contribute to the continued success of our Real Estate team.

At Ashfords, we believe in more than just doing great work - we believe in building a great place to work.

When you join us, you become part of a team where everything we do is underpinned by our four core values: Be Open, Think Team, Make a Difference and Always Grow. These values shape who we are and how we work - they guide our decisions, influence our culture, and drive the way we support our people, clients and communities.

With a clear focus on innovation, community involvement, and supporting a healthy work‑life balance, we are committed to building an environment where our people can have a rewarding and meaningful career.

Whilst we recognise that every career journey is unique, we will be ambitious for you, giving you the tools, trust, and opportunities to develop your career, your way.

Our goal? To help you realise your full potential as part of a forward‑thinking team.
