Job summary

Parklands Care Homes is seeking a Pantry Assistant to join our Lynemore Care Home in Grantown-on-Spey. This part-time role (10.5 hours per week) operates on a rotating day pattern including weekends, with an hourly rate of £13.00.

You will help maintain the pantry, support cooks, prepare light meals, and ensure food safety and hygiene. Previous kitchen or food service experience is preferred, and attendance at mandatory training is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Cook Safe system and follow food safety policies.
• Prepare and serve breakfast and light meals, offer choices to residents.
• Liaise with cooks to meet dietary needs and allergies; plan daily menus.
• Clear tables, wash dishes, prep vegetables, and keep kitchen/dining area clean.
• Order and store food supplies while following infection control rules.
• Attend mandatory training and participate in the team.

We are looking for a Pantry Assistant who is dedicated to making every moment count, regardless of their qualifications or experience.

As a Pantry Assistant, you will need to be adaptable and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with our team are essential for maintaining the pantry, organising supplies, and ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly to meet the dietary needs of residents.

The Role

• Manage the "Cook Safe" system, ensuring adherence to food safety policies, including food probing, temperature monitoring, and hygiene measures.
• Preparing and serving breakfast, offering meal choices to residents, and cooking light meals.
• Liaise with cooks to accommodate residents' dietary needs, be aware of food allergies, and complete daily menus based on individual preferences.
• Clearing tables, washing dishes, preparing vegetables, setting up for meals, and maintaining a clean kitchen and dining area.
• Order and store food supplies, ensuring adequate stock while adhering to infection control and health and safety policies.
• Attendance at mandatory training is required.
• Previous kitchen or food service experience is preferred, along with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, physical stamina, and good communication abilities.
• A positive attitude and a passion for helping others are essential.
