Panel Technician/Panel Beater

Colwyn Bay | 34,000 - 37,000 OTE 55,000

This role is responsible for carrying out high-quality structural and cosmetic repairs to vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications. Working within a collaborative Bodyshop team, the Panel Technician ensures repairs are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review job cards and repair instructions to assess work requirements
  • Perform panel and chassis repairs, including reshaping, filler application, and part refitting
  • Follow approved repair methods using manufacturer systems or Thatcham techniques
  • Liaise with Estimators and Parts Department to confirm parts and authorise additional costs
  • Conduct final quality checks and complete documentation accurately
  • Maintain tools and equipment in line with health & safety and COSHH standards
  • Support team members and contribute to a productive workshop environment
  • Participate in training, feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills and Experience
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems and body repair processes
  • Ability to use chassis straightening equipment (jig) and welding tools safely
  • Familiarity with manufacturer repair sequences and quality control standards
  • Health & safety awareness, including COSHH and EPA compliance
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Basic computer literacy and accurate documentation skills
