Initial 12 weeks temp role

Overview
  • We are currently recruiting for an experienced Painter to join a busy inhouse maintenance team working across residential properties in Wiltshire and Somerset
  • This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, skilled and motivated Painter who is confident delivering high-quality decorating works within occupied and void homes
  • Deliver high-quality painting/decorating and wall tiling within residential properties, planning each job effectively and completing works to specification (where provided) and to customer expectations.
  • Complete damp and mould remediation in line with product and manufacturer instructions, including wash-down treatment of affected internal areas. Carry out external cleaning where required (e.g., windows, doors, soffits and fascias).
  • Prepare surfaces to ensure a proper finish, including minor wall repairs to support tiling. For external decoration tasks, carry out small repairs to timber joinery (such as windows, doors and porches) and associated elements like guttering, soffits and fascias.
  • Organise and manage your daily workload, attending appointments within agreed time slots and delivering works in line with priorities and scheduled customer bookings. Maintain clear communication with the scheduling team and escalate any material delays to your line manager.
  • Work safely at all times and comply with relevant legislation and company procedures. Follow risk assessments and method statements, including COSHH, correct use of equipment, appropriate PPE, and safe working practices.
  • Use materials responsibly and complete works in a cost-conscious way. Identify requirements early and order materials via approved suppliers when needed, keeping customers informed of progress and expected delivery/return dates.
  • Support colleagues and other trades when required, contributing to an efficient, joined-up service.
  • Provide a professional, courteous service, building positive relationships with residents and representing the organisation to a high standard at every visit
  • The role offers consistent work, a supportive team environment, and the use of a company van and fuel card throughout the assignment
  • This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering a professional finish, is comfortable working in domestic properties, and has experience managing their own workload across a set patch

  • Identifying and reporting any further property issues to supervisors or surveyors
  • Managing your daily workload effectively, completing work within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Maintaining excellent customer service while working in occupied homes, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants
  • Using materials efficiently and ensuring your van and tools are kept in good working condition
  • Follow company Health & Safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
