Painter and Decorator

Location: HMP Winchester, Romsey Rd, Winchester. SO22 5DF


Salary: £32,353.57 per annum (including location bonus of £3.5k)


Contract: Permanent – 39 hrs per week – Mon‑Fri


We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at HMP Winchester, a Category B adult male prison. Join a team that is more than just a group of colleagues – we work Monday to Friday as a supportive and driven family, working together to create a safe and nurturing environment. As a Painter & Decorator you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, to cleaners, and administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.


Qualifications


  • A City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent (or significant experience/time served in a similar role)

  • Experience working in a maintenance team

  • An honest and reliable character, who can approach their work with a sense of purpose and pace

  • Good Health & Safety knowledge

  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills
