Morson Talent is currently recruiting for experienced Painter Supervisors, to support ongoing projects at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and manage painting operatives / blasters, ensuring productivity and quality standards.
- Monitor attendance, timekeeping, staff conduct.
- Allocate resources (teams, equipment, materials) for various coatings jobs.
- Ensure that paint and blast work meets required standards.
- Inspect completed work, identify defects or non-conformances, arrange remedial work.
- Maintain documentation of inspections, quality records, non-conformance reports.
- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with all legal and procedural regulations.
- Support and guide team members on application techniques and best practices.
- Ensure high-quality standards in all aspects of surface preparation and coating.
- Maintain clean working areas and ensure all equipment is properly protected.
- Use access equipment such as scaffolding and mobile platforms.
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience working in an Industrial Painting environment
- Experience managing a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Desirable: experience on nuclear or construction sites.
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing work demands.
- Positive team contributor with a collaborative approach.
- Honest, open, and professional attitude.

- IOSH Managing Safely Qualifications
Pay Rates
- PAYE - Basic: £19.50, OT1: £25.35, OT2: £31.20
- UMBRELLA PAYE - Basic: £25.56, OT1: £32.68, OT2: £40.22
Taxable lodge allowance for travelling workers:
- PAYE - £50.65 per day
- UMBRELLA PAYE - £65.84 per day
Work Arrangements
38 standard hours a week, 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday, shift and overtime a possibility but not guaranteed. 29 days holiday annually (inclusive of bank holidays)
