Job summary

The Financial Times is offering a paid summer internship focused on audio journalism and production. You will join the team in the US for a 10-week program, working in the office at least three days a week. The role involves pitching, reporting and producing audio stories for the FT News Briefing and gaining exposure to business coverage.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US. A journalism degree and experience with Descript are preferred, with mentorship provided by a dedicated Buddy

Qualifications

• Journalism degree preferred.
• Audio or podcast experience preferred (Internship or courses).
• Good writing and editing skills.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Interest in finance and business news.
• Experience with Descript or similar editing software.

Responsibilities

• Research and pitch audio story ideas spanning FT coverage.
• Gather tape and archive audio to enhance stories.
• Coordinate and record interviews with FT journalists and guests.
• Produce and edit elements of the FT News Briefing under guidance.
