Overview

Paid Media Assistant — Wolverhampton — Full Time — £25,000 – £32,000 (DOE + performance bonus)

About Us
We’re The Big Phone Store, one of the UK’s fastest-growing refurbished tech retailers.

We believe in a world where refurbished is the first choice, not the backup. Every phone we sell helps someone save money and helps the planet, too — and that’s something worth being part of.

We’re now looking for a Paid Media Assistant. Someone who’s analytical, eager to learn, and ready to start a career in digital marketing. You don’t need to tick every box or have years of experience. If you’re smart, curious, and ready to grow. This could be the perfect place for you.

The Role:

You’ll work with our PPC team to run paid campaigns across Google, Bing, Meta, and more. Learning how to analyse performance, test ideas, and turn data into insights that drive real growth.

This isn’t a repetitive or robotic job, it’s about learning, experimenting, and improving every day in a fast-moving, supportive team.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting the team in managing and optimising PPC campaigns.
  • Collecting and analysing data to understand performance and trends.
  • Learning how to use Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and analytics tools.
  • Helping build and update performance reports in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Conducting keyword and audience research.
  • Assisting with A/B testing and creative experiments.
  • Collaborating with marketing and eCommerce teams to deliver results.
What We’re Looking For

There’s no perfect checklist here. You might only tick one or two boxes, that’s fine. What matters most is your mindset and willingness to learn.

  • Analytical and logical, you like solving problems and finding patterns.
  • Organised and detail-oriented.
  • Confident enough to ask questions and share ideas.
  • Comfortable with (or keen to learn) Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Interested in digital marketing, advertising, or eCommerce.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine curiosity.
  • Bonus points for: any experience with PPC or paid media tools, previous marketing, data, or retail experience (even personal projects count).
Why You’ll Love It Here

We don’t expect you to be the finished article, most of us weren’t when we started. What matters is that you care, you want to achieve, and you’re not afraid to learn. You’ll get full training, guidance from experienced marketers, and the freedom to grow into your own style. Here, effort and attitude matter more than experience.

Perks & Benefits
  • Up to 28 days paid holiday
  • Birthday off (after year 2, no annual leave used)
  • Extra day of annual leave every year from year 2
  • Free onsite parking
  • Private pension scheme
  • Salary sacrifice schemes
  • Staff discounts on tech
  • Team socials and days out
  • Equal opportunities employer (est. 1999)
  • Recession-proof, sustainable industry
