A leading NHS trust in the UK is seeking a committed Paediatric Staff Nurse to provide exceptional nursing care to children in their day surgery unit. The successful candidate will have experience in an NHS or UK healthcare setting, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to mentor nursing students. The role offers a competitive salary of £31,049 to £37,796 per annum, pro rata, along with opportunities for personal development.

Paediatric day surgery is located within day surgery unit at St Richards hospital.
We have a stand alone 6 bedded paediatric day ward which is a busy unit which cares for children having surgery from a wide range of specialties.
We are looking for a committed, adaptable, hard working Children's Nurse or RN with paediatric experience with good interpersonal and communication skills.
The post holder will contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the Children's Day surgery Unit. They will be responsible and accountable for professional evidence-based nursing care delivered to children and young people. Ensuring the highest quality, effective and compassionate care is received by the child, young person, and their families/carers whilst on the unit.
Excellent, holistic, and individualised nursing care will be delivered through assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating. This will be in line with Trust and National policies, procedures, values, and behaviours.
The post holder will support and promote a supportive learning environment in which to supervise and mentor student nurses, Trainee Nurse associates, and Healthcare Assistants. The post holder will take responsibility for their own training needs and remain updated with their mandatory training.
The post holder will act as an advocate while demonstrating effective communication and listening skills which are age appropriate for the child, young person and their families.
