Job summary

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Dental Officer for paediatrics and special care dentistry on a full-time maternity cover basis. Based at Aylesham Health Centre, you will provide high-quality dental care for children and adults with complex needs across community settings.

The role includes Tier 2 care, sedation or GA, and work across clinics, prisons, mobile units, and domiciliary care, in a multidisciplinary team committed to quality and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier 2 dental care for paediatric and special care patients referred into the service.
• Deliver treatment under inhalation sedation and general anaesthesia as required by service need.
• Provide dental treatment at prisons, mobile units, and domiciliary care as required.
• Involve patients in their care with information, support and motivation regarding oral health, diet and smoking.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide a seamless care package for patients.
• Monitor clinical governance, infection prevention, and cross-infection controls.
• Participate in audits and ensure delivery of CQC outcomes.
