Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Band 6)

Part time, 4 days per week

Fixed Term Contract for 1 year from commencement (Secondment Opportunity)

We currently have a part time vacancy for an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team in Mid Argyll and Kintyre. The successful applicant will have a highly complex individual caseload across Mid Argyll and Kintyre, this challenging post gives the right applicant the opportunity to further develop their skills with a range of paediatric conditions as well as service development opportunities.
You will be expected to provide direct clinical care, which encompasses highly specialist occupational therapy assessment, treatment and management of children/young people with diverse and complex presentations including multi-pathologies and challenging behaviours
You will be supported by the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team Lead based in Helensburgh

To succeed in this exciting and challenging post you will have a degree or equivalent qualification as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist be HCPC registered and demonstrate evidence of postgraduate learning in a paediatric related field. You will have experience and understanding of community paediatric services including MDT working and service change and development, you will be aware of regional and national strategy around paediatric services and have excellent communication and negotiation skills. Perhaps most importantly you will need the ability to identify and seize opportunities to deliver truly outstanding paediatric occupational therapy services – innovators are very welcome to apply.

The base location will be Lochgilphead. Mid Argyll and the Kintyre peninsula sit on the West Coast of Scotland, an area of outstanding natural beauty yet close to cosmopolitan cities such as Glasgow and Edinburgh. Argyll has over 3,500km of stunning coastline and is home to many inhabited and uninhabited islands. The opportunities to enjoy a healthy outdoor lifestyle in the area are almost endless and our family orientated communities and excellent schools offer a great place to bring up children.
