Paediatric Dietician (Band 7) 17 hours per week is advertised at Ormskirk Hospital, part of Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This post supports children with diabetes on the paediatric ward, outpatient clinics and at home, including involvement with Eating Disorders caseload.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Post graduate qualification in Dietetics.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Postgraduate diploma/MSc or relevant paediatrics/diabetes courses.
  • Evidence of CPD.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the dietetic service and provide high-quality paediatric nutrition across diabetes inpatients, outpatients and community settings.
  • Lead policy development, education and training of other health professionals on child nutrition.
  • Work with the paediatric diabetes MDT to develop and enhance the dietetic service in line with tariff arrangements.

Paediatric Dietician, Band 7 (17 hours per week)


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self motivated Advanced Paediatric Dietician to join our Diabetes team at Ormskirk Hospital. Part of Mersey and West Lancashire NHS Trust. A number of hours will be allocated to support children with Eating Disorders on the Children's Ward.


If you are a motivated, flexible and forward-thinking experienced Paediatric Dietician who is ready to advance their professional and clinical development in a more senior role we would love to hear from you.


The team is based at the hospital and provides a comprehensive service to children with Diabetes on the Paediatric Ward, Out patient Department and at home.


UK driving licence and access to a car are required for this post.


Main duties of the job


  • To lead the dietetic service and provide a high quality, evidence based up to date nutrition and dietetic service to highly specialised clinical areas of paediatrics including diabetes requiring an advanced level of knowledge, skills and experience at a range of locations in Southport and Ormskirk NHS Hospitals including in-patients, dietetic out-patients, dietetic community clinics as well as MDT clinics.

  • To lead policy development, education and training of other health professionals on matters of child nutrition

  • To work as a member of the paediatric diabetes multidisciplinary team to develop and enhance the dietetic service for paediatric patients with diabetes in line with tariff arrangements
